Many derelicts still hold functional components, weapons, or cargo that can be retrieved before the hull is stripped away.\n\nComponent salvage focuses on recovering intact ship systems and high-value parts before the wreck is broken down. Using precision tractor beams, salvagers can remove weapons, shields generators, quantum drives, and other functional modules.\n\nCurrently, with the right tools, all weapons and all components up to size 2 can be removed from vehicles as long as you have access to them through a component bay on the interior or exterior of the wreck. Once detached, these items can be stored aboard your ship if you have available space, allowing you to transport multiple components for future use. You can later attach them to your own vehicles, sell them at shops that accept components, or trade them with other players.\n\nHull Scraping\nHull scraping is the foundation of modern salvage operations, allowing pilots to reclaim valuable Recycled Material Composite (RMC) from the outer plating of derelict ships and debris. The onboard processing unit (filler station) on salvage ships will produce SCU containers with the collected RMC. These RMC containers can then be sold for profit.\n\nOn most salvage vessels, RMC can also be converted into RMC canisters (for example, the Cambio-Lite SRT Canister) used by salvage and repair hand tools. Empty canisters that can be bought at dedicated shops can also be filled at commodity kiosks with RMC.\n\nStructural Salvage\nStructural salvage takes recovery operations beyond the surface, breaking down derelicts into their raw framework to harvest useful commodities. The process begins with \"Fracture,\" which cracks the derelict hulls into smaller parts. This is followed by \"Disintegrate,\" which further breaks down the pieces into smaller fragments, yielding Construction Materials with output varying by the type of salvage ship used, ranging from \"Rubble\" to \"Pieces\" to \"Salvage\". These raw materials require refinery processing before future use. This deeper level of reclamation demands power, precision, and coordination, but rewards operators with the highest yields, turning once-lost starships into the building blocks of tomorrow's fleet.\n\nCONSTRUCTION MATERIALS\nConstruction Materials are the commodity generated by disintegrating the hulls of vehicles using structural salvage.
