Rich in valuable mineral resources, Kathryn Segovia cited its presence as a primary motivating factor in her decision to sell the location of the Th.us'ūng-[Baker](https://robertsspaceindustries.com/galactapedia/article/Rz2KGkv13N-baker-system) jump point to [terraforming](https://robertsspaceindustries.com/galactapedia/article/V3qgj8vjnj-terraforming) organization Gaia Planet Services. However, the company's plans to mine the belt were halted before when they inadvertently made first contact with the Xi'an Empire.
