Whether you’re putting your life on the line for the good of Humanity or keeping the wheels of commerce rolling, Star Citizen is brimming with immersive missions that let you make your mark on the universe.

Over the next few months, we’re spotlighting some of our favorite contracts and giving everyone who attempts them the chance to win ships perfectly suited to the challenges of the 'verse.

This time, we’re exploring the world of Salvage, where you can make your fortune ripping, stripping, and recycling abandoned ships.

Tips & Tricks
The ships you’re tasked with salvaging aren’t always empty shells. Don’t forget to check the interiors and cargo holds for valuables left behind; you might stumble upon precious cargo, weapons, or items.

Sometimes, you’ll pull up on a slightly more intact ship. Providing you have the space, you can use your MultiTool’s tractor beam to remove functional components and sell them for bonus credits or use them yourself. Prioritize checking for undamaged weapons, thrusters, powerplants, coolers, shield generators, and quantum drives.

As you progress, the ships you’ll be stripping get bigger. Before trying to break down a goliath like a Hammerhead, it’s worth recruiting a support ship with a healthy-sized cargo bay

Salvage ContractsSalvage is recycling abandoned ships for profit. The process begins with Hull Stripping, where you cut out material from a ship’s body, leaving Recycled Material Composite (RMC) that can be sold at specific stations around the ‘verse.

Wrecks can be salvaged using a Drake Vulture, Aegis Reclaimer, or the handheld Greycat Multi-Tool. All do the job, though later missions require a ship.

Getting StartedThese missions, called ‘contracts,’ are issued by broker Adagio Holdings. They’ll take a fee for each contract supplied, though the salvage you can claim typically covers the cost several times over.

To get started, open the Contracts Manager in your mobiGlas and select Salvage. As a rookie, you’ll only have a few smaller ships to take on, but as you complete more, more valuable contracts with bigger ships will be added.

Stripping ShipsOnce you’ve paid the fee, the coordinates of the abandoned ship will be added to your Starmap. Then it’s just a case of tooling up and heading out.

At the job, you’ll need to strip the target and gather up the resulting RMC. When your cargo hold is full, head to the nearest landing zone to find a reclamation drop-off, such as the Trade & Development Division (TDD) or Reclamation & Disposal, and cash in your haul

Tipps & Tricks
