Ivar Messer (2516-2592) was the first [Imperator](https://robertsspaceindustries.com/galactapedia/article/0Gz5BoJ9wl-uee-imperator) of the [United Empire of Earth (UEE)](https://robertsspaceindustries.com/galactapedia/article/VyvyKxy4v6-united-empire-of-earth). He was a Captain in the [United Planets of Earth](https://robertsspaceindustries.com/galactapedia/article/0QxBjKP2PN-united-planets-of-earth)[Army](https://robertsspaceindustries.com/galactapedia/article/RxnX5JOZ7Q-uee-army) 112th Infantry Battalion when he distinguished himself in the [First Tevarin War](https://robertsspaceindustries.com/galactapedia/article/bZwQm3meJM-first-tevarin-war) (2541-2546) during Operation Nemesis and in the [Battle of Idris IV](https://robertsspaceindustries.com/galactapedia/article/ReJajXKelk-battle-of-idris-iv), when he took command after the death of his captain and led his troops to victory.
