This Week in Star Citizen
01/16/2023 - 6:00 PM
Happy Monday, everyone!
What do the roar of engines, parties in red robes, a rooster, and a gang of criminals who don't seem to have learned their lesson have in common?
We'll encounter all of them this week in Star Citizen Alpha 3.17.5, which scatters Lunar New Year envelopes around the 'verse and adds the other festive goodies we're handing out as part of this year's Red Festival! And yes, good folks, these envelopes will be a permanent addition to your hangars, so you can enjoy them for many moons to come! And for the adrenaline junkies out there, THE biggest community-driven event, the Daymar Rally 2953, approaches!
The filthiest race in the ‘verse, where hundreds of players compete in three divisions (Buggy, Truck, and Hover Bike) over a distance of 510 km, is back. Make no mistake, citizens, firearms ARE enabled, so get ready to watch this explosive showcase of dastardly and daring driving go down this Saturday!
On the subject of Alpha 3.18, progress is coming along nicely, thanks to all of you! The prolonged PTU time has allowed us to improve stability, and squash many of the bugs holding us from releasing to a wider audience. While we haven't opened up yet, we're hoping to do so soon.
Now, let's see what's going on this week:
On Wednesday, we'll update you on the last two months of 2022 in our PU Monthly Report. We'll also email the Squadron 42 report for both months. Get all the latest development info by subscribing to the Squadron 42 newsletter here.
ISC and SCL are still on holiday hiatus but will return next week with your favorite deep dives into Star Citizen content!
This Friday, we'll kick off the Red Festival 2953! Star Citizen's take on Lunar New Year celebrations will not only bring back an in-game goodies, but also epic action to the gas giant Crusader, as the Siege of Orison returns! You'll also receive our weekly RSI Newsletter delivered to your inbox.
Saturday will finally be the long-awaited race day! Join us in cheering on all the teams competing in a grueling endurance race across the dunes and rocks of Daymar.
Have a stellar week both in and out of the 'verse!

Frohen Montag, allerseits!
